Each day during the Red Ribbon Week, our staff and students will be participating in different activities to show their support for a drug-free and healthy lifestyle in our communities and across the nation.

The 2nd grade Hawks from Hillcrest Elementary put on a fabulous show the other night! They performed songs and musical routines from the hit musical production, “Annie”. The star of the show, Leyla Devinney, played the part of Annie and did a really fantastic job. The second graders danced and sang each number of the musical with heart and pizazz and put on a great show for the packed house in the Cafeteria. The crowd went crazy and applauded the performers for their outstanding job. Great job Hawks!

Six students from Hillcrest Elementary received perfect scores on the FCAT for the 2013-2014 school-year. As a reward for such an amazing achievement, Sydnie Whitaker, Emma Watkins, Haylee Blankenship, Edan Biancardi, Jesse Dover, and Lucero Fernandez were given the ride of a lifetime.

Starting in the next couple weeks, fifth grade students at Hillcrest Elementary will have their heads in the cloud so to speak — and the Hillcrest administration could not be more excited.

Each fifth grade student is set to receive a brand new Chromebook, an android, Internet-based laptop that uses the cloud to store programs and information on the Internet. The chromebooks will come loaded with programs to enhance student proficiency and personalize the learning experience, giving every student the necessary tools to reach new educational heights.
